# Overview

What you’re integrating and where to start.

ST0x tokens are ERC-20 tokens for real, listed stocks, issued by S01 Issuer GmbH on Base, Ethereum, HyperEVM, Robinhood Chain and BNB Smart Chain. They behave like other ERC-20s with three differences: tStock balances change when a stock splits, transfers can stop in a few cases, and each wtStock grows in tStock as dividends arrive. These docs cover each one.

## What you’re integrating

- **tStock**: the issued token. One tStock carries a right, against S01, to one share. It rebases: balances change when the stock splits.
- **wtStock**: an ERC-4626 wrapper around tStock. Balances never change with corporate actions, so it’s the form pools, vaults and lending markets use.
- **Receipts**: every mint leaves an ERC-1155 receipt onchain, so you can trace supply back to each issuance.

[Read the concepts](/docs/concepts).

## Start here

1. Find the token’s contracts on its [token page](/tokens): every chain, tStock and wtStock.
2. Choose the form: wtStock for DeFi, tStock to hold the issued token directly ([compare them](/docs/concepts#tstock-and-wtstock)).
3. For wtStock, read how much tStock each one holds with `convertToAssets(1e18)`, on the chain you’re using.
4. Handle [splits and dividends](/docs/corporate-actions), and the cases where [transfers can stop](/docs/concepts#controls).
5. If you lend against it, follow the [pricing guide](/docs/pricing).

A public API, token list and MCP server are coming soon.

## Indexing mints and burns

Each tStock contract is paired with an ERC-1155 receipt contract, and every mint creates a receipt. To index supply, follow these events on the tStock:

- Mint: `Deposit(address sender, address owner, uint256 assets, uint256 shares, uint256 id, bytes receiptInformation)`
- Burn: `Withdraw(address sender, address receiver, address owner, uint256 assets, uint256 shares, uint256 id, bytes receiptInformation)`

Authorised Participants request mints and burns; S01’s operational roles carry them out. Anyone can transfer tStock, with no allowlist, except in the cases where [transfers can stop](/docs/concepts#controls).

## Upgrades and source

Token contracts are beacon proxies. Any logic change goes through a Safe multisig and a 48-hour timelock, so you can see it coming. The contracts are open source:

- [st0x.deploy (wtStock wrapper and deployment)](https://github.com/S01-Issuer/st0x.deploy)
